The Inner Tradition Of
The branch of medicine that focuses on the individuals spiritual and emotional evolution, the act of helping one return to self, to the dao.
Dao can be translated as a “continuous progression and unfolding of nature along its evolutionary path” or “the way one comes to see and understand oneself” according to Lony Jarrett. Laozi also refers to the movement of the dao as an eternal “self-becoming”
The word yu translates as “to heal” and also as a set of acupuncture points; the character is a boat over a heart.
That is the job of a practitioner in the inner tradition of Chinese medicine- to assist one’s heart in the voyage back to oneself.
